On September 11th the Y5/6 children took part in the South of Manchester cross country competition. This was the first the group of children attending had been to a cross country event. The track which the children were to run was further than any running event the children had done before. We set the goal that no matter where we finish in the race that we do our best and finish it. The girl group was the first to run. And we managed to have one girl finish in the top 30 out of 100. All the girls finished the race. The boys did the same with one of the boys managing to finish in the top 40 of 100. It was a great experience which they all enjoyed.
Yesterday the children competed in the second round of the Manchester cross country competition. The children all improve their performances from last week which was brilliant. Unfortunately they just missed out on qualifying for finals but all the children had a fun day and set personal bests.
